In January 2022 — just a few months after I left the classroom and moved to Tbilisi for the adventure of a lifetime… I was panicking.

I’d just finished my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification, only to realize online teaching jobs were drying up faster and faster each day.

So I turned to Plan B:

Copywriting.

(Who knew it would become my full-time career less than a year later!)

I’d heard distant whispers of how lucrative copywriting is, but I had no idea what it was and how it was different from straight-up writing.

It’s easy to get lost in the online rabbit hole of endless free information…

So I eventually joined my first copywriting communities, The Copy Collective, and Copy Chicks, where I could talk to actual humans about copywriting.

That’s also where I met the first teacher-turned-copywriter I know with a similar creative/English major background…

And realized what was possible for someone like me.

This former teacher is also the first financial copywriter I ever met!

I was constantly in awe of his process (and his income, to be perfectly honest with you). 😊

He’s always been very generous when sharing his advice and writing rituals… which I’ve used RELIGIOUSLY to fast-track my journey into financial copywriting.

That’s why I’m so excited to share an upcoming episode of Classroom to Copy where I’ll be interviewing Sean MacIntyre, the first teacher-turned-copywriter I ever met.
